Center is a growing community located approximately 25 miles northwest of Pittsburgh. Comprising a land area of 15.4 square miles and a population of just over 12,000, Center Township offers residents incredible features and resources to enhance comfortable and safe living. Home to three colleges, Center is also the site of the largest retail centers in the area. It is advantageously located to the regional transportation network. The township is bordered by the Beaver Valley Expressway (PA Route 60), which connects the Parkway West in the vicinity of the Airport. Additionally, the township is served by two interchanges on the expressway, and is the home of the newly constructed Beaver County Transit Authority Terminal, connecting the township with all of Beaver County and the city of Pittsburgh. A limited-access highway and well-kept roads provide accessibility to shopping centers, educational institutions, theaters, social centers and other retail business services. The Pittsburgh International Airport and the Pennsylvania Turnpike are only 15 minutes away. Ambitious municipal, business and recreation programs characterize the well-planned community of Center Township. These include a system of parks and playgrounds with picnic areas, and soon, a Safe Roads to School walkway system connecting many of the township neighborhoods to the newly merged Central Valley School District and post-secondary educational institutions. We invite you to look at the Photographic Views link of the website to view photos that illustrate the distinctive commercial, residential, educational and community qualities that, along with the residents, contribute to the character of Center Township.
